HP EVA P6300. Difference between allocation and requested space.

Hello!

I have a HP P6300. One of disk groups has difference between allocation space and requested space. All of vdisks are THICK. I don't use snapshots, clones, so on. How it possible and what I must do to eliminate this difference?

There is output of SSSU:

>ls disk_group DG_SATA

...

usedstoragespacegb         16594.61

...

dgrequestedcap                14538

@An_Ko  It seems to be a reporting issue. You may try to resync the controllers.

When the controllers perform a fast restart by resynchronizing, hosts may need to retry I/O jobs, but the reboot completes before host I/O jobs are dropped. You might have to check the application before doing so.

Recommended to perform during low I/O or non-production hours.

To Resynch from Command view EVA.

Re: HP EVA P6300. Difference between allocation and requested space.

So, in my case restart master controller helps. BTW, HP support send me this instruction:

1. Restart master controller. If it not help go to 2.

2. Resync the controllers. Possible downtime up to 60 sec.
