We are currently using the Nimble HF20 array in our dHCI environment and want to ensure data safety by adding another storage array to replicate data from the first array to the new one. Is storage replication possible in dHCI so that we can set up a dedicated standby array on the same site? If yes, can we use an Alletra Storage as a replication partner, or should it be the same as the primary array (Nimble HF20)?

SolutionFor sync replication/peer persistance, we need dHCI setup on the other side. For async replication, it can be done using just an HF20 array, as long as it is only to be used as a standby/backup array.

Re: Add Replication Partner for Nimble HF20 array
Thank you for sharing the useful information. But when you say 'we need a dHCI setup on the other side,' do you mean including the compute nodes and ToR switches, or just the configuration on the storage array?
Also, regarding asynchronous replication, can we use the Alletra 5000? coz, I think Nimble is a retired product.

Re: Add Replication Partner for Nimble HF20 array
For async replication, Alletra 5000 can be used.
For sync replication, the other side must have a dHCI array (and same hardware model) and it is not sold separately, so should have servers and switches.
