I recently started working at a company and I need to create a spreadsheet with all the LUNS already used by the Nimble Storage Array. However, I need assistance with either viewing or exporting the used Lun's. Can someone help me with that?
Thanks

Re: How do I get a list of all the used LUNS on NIMBLE
Hello! Welcome to the forums
The easiest way to do this would be to take an output from Infosight. https://infosight.hpe.com
Your colleagues will most likely need to create you as a user on your customer organisation in the tool first.
Once that's done, you can head to Infrastructure->Nimble->Volumes to start gleaning insights into the datasets you have. You're able to output those insights out to CSV, and voila!
Infosight gives you great insights and knowledge into whats going on - so much so that it often replaces the need to produce spreadsheets...

Re: How do I get a list of all the used LUNS on NIMBLE
Thank you, I was able to download the CSV but in all that data it doesn't list the LUN address.
Do you know where can get that information?
Thanks

Re: How do I get a list of all the used LUNS on NIMBLE
Can you please elaborate on what you mean by 'LUN address'?
Volumes on Nimble are accessed via Initiator Groups. Yes, Infosight doesn't give you this information as Infosight is designed to be a Predictive Analytics SaaS solution. If you want this information, you can see it in the array UI under Manage->Connections.

Re: How do I get a list of all the used LUNS on NIMBLE
When you are creating a Volume for a server to access you enter a Name, Location, Policy, Size, Data Protection, Access and finally LUN number. I realize thie LUN number is not hard coded as with other Storage Appliances like Netapp but I would like a list so I don't have to guess what number to use for new Volumes I create. My attempt at creating order

SolutionUnderstood,
The Monitor->Connections screen show you the LUN number for FC and iSCSI volumes (iSCSI only if using Group Scoped Targets and on NimbleOS 5.1.x or above).
The LUN number is auto-assigned when creating a volume, and the user interface will not you allocate the same number if one already exists for that initiator group.
