HI
What is the best way to move data from 3par to Nimble, does peer motion work as it does in between 3par and Primera.
Depreciating old 3par 7000 series

SolutionHi!
There is a technology available inside HPE RMC 6.2 called Peer Copy, which will allow you to snapshot and replicate data between 3PAR and Nimble systems. You can use this as a way to perform data mobility between the platforms (Peer Copy also supports cascade and multi-hop replication across platforms).
If it's VMware/Hyper-V, then you maybe better off using something such as Storage vMotion/Live Migration to move the data across non disruptively.

Re: Move volumes from old 3par to Nimble
Hi Nick Dyer,
Is there any document available for HPE RMC migration process.
HPE RMC free license for Nimble or license need to purchase?
Thank You

Re: Move volumes from old 3par to Nimble
Hello,
RMC is free for all Nimble customers, it's available to download from HPE Infosight->Software Downloads.
Here's an example of how to do the process from 3PAR to Primera using RMC PeerCopy. We'll be publishing a new video showing the workflow of PeerCopy between 3PAR and Nimble shortly.

And just like that, some more content is posted!
Here's a RMC Peer Copy Concepts & Data Mobility video, which does show how to do it from 3PAR to Nimble: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCSB6G9-dl0

Hi Dsingh
I found a link that talks about Migrating SQL from HPE 3PAR to HPE Nimble Storage Using HPE Recovery Manager Central Peer Copy
here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-5vQxqIPwo
Hope this helps.!!
