Hostname for appliance not actually updating

I have renamed the 1.20.03 appliance for VMware. The settings page shows the updated hostname, lets say oneview.domain.com.

However the console shows the ci-<MAC Address name> as well as vSphere is showing that for the DNS name. Meaning the host name isn't actually updated.

How do I fix this? Yes I tried rebooting.

Unfortunately, this is a known limitation.  It has been raised to the product team to address.

Bump on this...

Year and a half later, and OneView 3.0 STILL doesn't update the hostname...

And now, two more years after the last post.  Any update on this limitation being addressed in a future release?  Is there a workaround available to correct this?

That you for bring attention back to this thread. We did look at addressing this, but the behavior is by design. Changing the internal OS Hostname would require significant architectural changes to the appliance. Which we have no plans to do.
