how to change server ip addresses in OneView

Hope someone can point me in the right direction for this issue.

I'm having trouble updating server hardware that has changed IP address.

I've read that I need to remove the hardware and add it in again, but I can't find a way to do this sucessfully.

A number of my server hardware ilo's have new ip addresses. I can't remove the server hardware while its being used by a server profile and when I edit the server profile to unassign the hardware I get an error saying 'unable to update profile'

unable to retrive power state of the hardware. unable to get the server power state from the management processor. connection error to iLO xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: No route to host.

In order to update managed or monitored devices Management IP Address, you simply need to re-add the deivce.  OneView will figure out which was the original device, and update accordingly.

Re: how to change server ip addresses in OneView

Hi

When I add the server  again i get the error

Unable to add server hardware: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
The server hardware has already been added as ILOxxxxxxx.

Resolution: Add a different server hardware.

Re: how to change server ip addresses in OneView

Hi,

I Have the same issue with Oneview 8.30, after changing ILO IP address:

 - I get an error while clicking on "Refresh" and no prompt for the new IP address.

 - If I try to "Add Server Hardware":

Unable to add server hardware: 10.x.x.x
The server is already being managed by this appliance.

Resolution: Select a different server hardware.

Please, anyone can help so I don't have to delete the server?

Thanks.

Re: how to change server ip addresses in OneView

I finally fixed it by updating the A record on the DNS server and trying the "Refresh" option again.
