HPE Blade System - Production environment - Oneview upgrade
Dears,
I have an HPE Blade System (C7000 enclosure, 2x flexfabric 20/40 f8 virtual connect module, 8x BL460c Gen9, Oneview 3.0) along with VMware vSphere Enterprise with over than 300 Production VMs.
Now, I 'm trying to add 8x BL460c gen 10
The problem is, when I tryied to make a virtual connect profile for any Gen 10 server, the Oneview 3.0 gives me a message that the Gen10 is not supported.
For that I'm going to upgrade the Oneview 3.0 to 4.0
Here I have two qustions:
1- Do I need to buy a new License for the Oneview 4 or the installed Oneview 3 license will work with the new one.
2- Does the flex fabric connectivity will be lost during the upgrade.
Appreciating your help, and thanks in advance.

Re: HPE Blade System - Production environment - Oneview upgrade
Hi Majd-ABs
1) No you dont have to buy any licenses if you are upgrading to 4.0 or above
2) Ideally, when you are upgrading the Oneview appliance there wont be any prod impact or any kind of network disconnectivity, You can go ahead and upgrade.
Actions
a) Before upgrade please make sure you take a backup and download / save the .bkp file from appliance.
b) Also make sure to take a VM snapshot.
c) You may need to go step wise upgrade to reach the latest version.
If you are at 3.00.05 move to 3.00.09 then > 4.00.07 > 4.00.11 > 4.10.05 > 4.20.01.01
Take a backup of the appliance after every upgrade and save it separately.
