HPE SimpliVity VSS Backup Requirements for VMware Domain Controller

I am unable to Use a VSS Backup for a VMware Domain Controller that sits on my SimpliVity Hardware.

It just fails everytime.

I works for other VSS Applications such as SQL etc.

The VSS credentials for the DC is a Domain Admin Account as Domain Controllers have no "Local" accounts like a non-DC server.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The admin guide for your version lists supported applications /OS.

If you are listed as support this KB lists some troubleshooting steps.

Hi BSDUKJ,

I know this is a old post. But have you found any solutions about your problem, i'm having the same issue on my domain controllers. VSS backups don't work on my simplivity for domain controllers but all others VSS backup on no domain controllers work.
