Re: InfoSight Released yet?

InfoSight is fully released today.

There's som more manual steps to enable it, see below. However even after following those I still I can't find OmniWatch under More when clicking Global InventoryLists->Clusters.. Using OmniStack 3.7.10

Enable the registration action (VCSA)
Log in to VCSA with root credentials. Enable shell commands with these commands:
>shell.set –-enable True
>shell
3. Run commands in the following order:
a) cd /etc/vmware/vsphere-client/
b) ls
If com.simplivity.client.properties file does not exist proceed to step c. If it does exist, go to
step g.
c) touch com.simplivity.client.properties
d) chown vsphere-client:users com.simplivity.client.properties
e) chmod 644 com.simplivity.client.properties
f) ls -all
This command verifies that properties are the same as the webclient.properties.
g) vim com.simplivity.client.properties
h) Add the following text:
# Enable display of InfoSight registration
com.simplivity.common.enableInfoSightRegistration=true
i) Save the file and exit:
Pres ESC and enter :wq.
j) Stop and start the vsphere-ui service:
service-control  --stop vsphere-ui
service-control  --start vsphere-ui
4. Reload the vCenter Server Web user interface.

InfoSight.
3. Obtain a claim token and copy it.
• If you are using a new account, click HPE SimpliVity Registration to obtain a claim token and copy it.
• If you logged in with an existing account, in Settings, under Servers, select My Organization and select
Device Enrollment. Then, obtain a claim token and copy it.
4. Log in to vSphere Client (HTML5) with the HPE SimpliVity Plug-in for vSphere Client installed.
5. From vSphere Client Home, click Global Inventory Lists. Then click Clusters.
6. Click a cluster from the table.
Registration applies to all the clusters in the federation.
7. Under More, click HPE OmniWatch or HPE InfoSight.
NOTE:
If you are using vCenter Server 6.7 U1, the HPE OmniWatch option is located under Cluster→HPE
OmniWatchConfigure.
8. In the HPE InfoSight Registration section, paste the claim token you obtained in the HPE InfoSight portal in to
the HPE InfoSight Claim Token box.
9. Click Register.

Anyone from HPE Support who can assist us on how to get the option visible under "More"  ?

Re: InfoSight Released yet?

And for Hyper-V ?? its on the roadmap ??

it's possible not to have a roadmap on simplivity. Hyper V is always one step behind. No granularity in backups, no Hp Insight...

Re: InfoSight Released yet?

Hi @jfrobs

Hyper-V is relatively new as a supported Hypervisor, so it is going to take time for it to evolve to a similar point as to where our vSphere platform is at. It is evolving quickly however, so I'm sure the functionalities you mention will also become available in the future.

Right now, for the first integration of SimpliVity into InfoSight, only vSphere is supported.

Good news for you however....Hyper-V is expected to be supported on InfoSight in the next SimpliVity release (4.0) ETA for general availability January next. So we are not forgetting about our Hyper-V customers!!

Thanks,
