Hello,
I want to confirm that i chose a right way to upgrade my federation.
i've 3 nodes en 3.7.4 Simplivity 380 Gen10 with vSphere 6.5 and i want to upgrade to 4.0.1 and vSphere 6.7
And firstly i want manualy upgrade firmware before upgrade Simplivity software.
i've SVTSP-2020_0225.06.iso for firmware part - is it compatible with 3.7.4 and 4.0.1 version of Omnistack?
Or there is no compatiblity problems at all?
Then i'll upgrade:
1 arbiter to 4.0.1
2 vCenter to 6.7
3 ESXi to 6.7
4 Plugin to 4.0.1
5 Omnistack 4.0.1 (directly from 3.7.4)
Is this a correct order?
And I can do it without running VMs during WE.
Thanks
Regards.

SolutionHello @Major88
Thank you for using HPE Simplivity Forums.
Based on the HPE Simplivity Interoperability Guide for Software 4.0.1 the firmware package SVTSP-2020_0225.06.iso is not compatible with 3.7.4 Software version. You need first to update the Simplivity Software to be able to upgrade firmware. I am including a link to this guide for reference:
HPE Simplivity OmniStack Interoperability Guide 4.0.1
HPE OmniStack 4.0.1 for vSphere Upgrade Guide
If you have any questions let me know. Please provide more details about vCenter Build number to check compatibility with current versions. Based on the guide it is supported to upgrade from 3.7.4 to 4.0.1 but you have to consider vCenter versions first to make sure you can make the jump.
Thanks,
Gustenar

Re: Upgrade Firmware for Omnistack 4.0.1
Hello Gustenar,
thank you for your reply.
A have not the exact buiIdI number of ESX and vCenter.
But does it mean that i can upgrade Omnistack version to 4.0.1 directly from 3.7.4 without firmware upgrade?
Regards

Re: Upgrade Firmware for Omnistack 4.0.1
Usually the OVC is the first component that the upgrade manager does. Based on the guide that I provided you it is supported to go from 3.7.4 to 4.0.1.

Re: Upgrade Firmware for Omnistack 4.0.1
my vcenter is vCenter Server 6.5 U1 5973321
and Omnistack 3.7.4
I need upgrade it to vCenter 6.7 U3b 15132721 and Simplivty to 4.0.1
But vCenter 6.7U3n is not compatible with 3.7.4.
Is it mean that i need :
Firstly upgrade to Simlivity 4.0.1 (compatible with vCenter 6.5 U1 5973321)
and after this i'll upgarde vCenter with ESXi host to 6.7 U3b (Supported with 4.0.1)
and finaly Firmware of the hosts
Thanks
