We currently running 11i (Patched to Dec '03) on a Superdome with 2 NPars. Currently Ignite-UX Version B.3.6.82 is installed.
We are going to be doing some work over the next couple of months to convert to VPars and want to make sure that the various bits of software are up to date before doing this.
If we upgrade to the latest release of Ignite-UX, (5.3.x), are we going to need an outage to do so, i.e. do we need to reboot the NPar during the install?
Thanks
Tim

Solution
hi,
as far as i know, after installation of Ignite-UX (be it upgrade or new install), re-boot is not require.
however, it would be good if you swremove the old version before installing the latest ignite. do note that the full installation of the 5.3.x is about 250MB.
hope this help.
regards.

Re: Ignite Upgrade
Hi Tim,
The ignite installation does not require a reboot . If you need to add a tape driver/patch to the O.S. that might require a reboot ( driver does).
Check this link:

Regards,
Gideon
