Clearing BMC errorlog on a rx2620

hello,

When I'm trying to boot up an Itanium rx2620, it comes up with a warning that I've to clear the BMC memory logs..

After some diving in EFI i've found out that this can ben done with : default clear bmc

ONLY : It tells me to enter a "service mode" on the itanium.

How to proceed, since I cannot find the service mode even tried the "diagnostics disk from HP"

There is an EFI command called "sysmode"
Shell> sysmode
Shell> sysmode service

Do you have the MP installed?


Try this from EFI:

EFI> clearlogs

clearlogs doesn't seem to be a valid command, though it's in the help of EFI.

changing the service level tells me, that I need Maintainance Mode instead of Admin mode.

Depending on the BMC warning ( SEL or FPL )
try clearlogs EFI command like
Shell> clearlogs sel
Shell> clearlogs fpl

clearlogs is not a valid command the EFI, please tell how to break lockword to login into sysmode with msg mode and clear this bmc log.

You cannot go into MFG mode. Consider to clear the MP logs first.
