Reset 3CR858-91 doesn't work

Hi All,

I have tried to resert our router 3CR858-91 to it's default configuration according to  the user manual instructions as nobody knows it's password. The router was configured with a different IP than the default one (172.28.0.15) and the firmware version is the default one. I'am using a point to point network cable to run the reset process but I am not able to reset the router. I also notice that the Alert led never gets in the rate that changes to 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off, continuously but stops flashing and goes off. When I turn on the router it still has the same IP and "admin" is not the password.

Any suggestion is welcome!
