Oracle 9i Veritas storage foundation for oracle HPUX xp 1024 performance issues

Ok, Let me lay it out.

Oracle rac running on hpux boxes

VCS 3.5

XP 1024 all disk in are 2d+2d.

Ok we are having performance issues in oracle. We are seeing db_seq read wait statments and high i/o waits from sar and veritas. We have a 600gb vol that is concantenated with Veritas volume manager and is on a xp 1024 using 2d + 2d disk.

We see the issue when we hit about 6500 iops on the hpux box. We are only seeing about 80 mb/s on the fiber.

I have a couple of questions. Dont for get thsi is a VCS clustered volume.

We are using Asynchronous I/O in the oracle int file.

The kernel is set for Asynchronous I/O

We use qio as a mount option to enable quick io in veritas.

Do we also have to do the convosync=direct command with the qio command?

Also on this volume the read_n stream =1 What should this value be on a veritas concantenated volume?

Please help obi wan you are our only hope.

Let me know if you need more info.

Hi,
One of out of box question.
Have tried with HPUX-LVM (Share LVM)?

Try using striping option of VXVM to get better performence on the disks.
