rx3600 with the 8-port PCI-X SAS controller and running under UX 11.23.
Recently installed 2 x 300GB SAS drives to exsting server which has 2x72GB in raid-1 pair and 2x146GB in raid-1 pair, but sasmgr comes back with "Block size not supported - min 512 max 2097152" error if I try to create raid-1 pair using the new 300GB drives.
I don't see any means to query the block size of these news drives to start with, as they can only be 'seen' by the SAS controller.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Re: sasmgr reports 'block size not supported' when trying to add disks
This controller can only do 2 mirrored pairs of drives plus hotspare. all other disks can only presented as plain disks.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: sasmgr reports 'block size not supported' when trying to add disks
Hello Torsten and thank you so much for the very prompt reply.
You have confirmed my worst thoughts about this controller then!
Is it a simple matter to add as JBOD? (As I don't see any examples of doing this in any of the sasmgr documentation I've got to hand).
This particular server is just an off-site D/R box, so I'm sure we could live without RAID on some disks (there is an on-site 'mirror' of the production server too as first failover point).
Regards
Paul
