rogue access point "false positives" with Motorola cell phones?

Hey there,

I'm hunting down rogue access points on my network. I have noticed something strange: Quite a few of the rogue AP warnings from HP MSM 765 controller team are directed a Mac addresses belonging to different Motorola mobile phones.

When checking them, their hotspot/tethering features are disabled. They are connected to the MSM themselves, so shouldn't be able to open up a rogue AP at the same time anyway.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Is Motorola doing funny stuff here?
