Hello,
My blade system consists of
1. 01 x C7000-01 ( 16 blades, 2 ethernet module, 2 HP 8Gb 24-port FC module)
2. 01 x C7000-02 (4 blades, 2 ethernet module, 2 HP B-Series 8/24c SAN Switch module)
3. 02 x SAN Switch HP 8/20q
3. 01 x P2000
4. 01 x MSA2000
5. 01 x MSL2024
The connection diagram is in b.jpg file. I can present LUN from P2000,MSA2000 to blades from C7000-01.
My question is "Can I connect HP 8/20q to HP 8/24c via TR-port in order to present LUN from P2000,MSA2000 to blades from C7000-02? "
What I have done to configure TR is
1. Configure HP 8/20q Port 7 in TR-port mode
2. Configure HP 8/24c Port 17 in U port mode
3. Connect 8/20q-Port 7 to 8/24c-Port 17
4. Create a IFZ zone in 8/20q (Controller A_P2000_WWN, C7000-02_ Blade01_ Port1_ WWN, TR-port WWN)
5. Create a similar IFZ zone in 8/24c
6. Port 7 status is online, TR-port mode. Port 17 status is online, F-port mode.
After the configuration, I check host port in P2000 but there is no new host port available.
Thanks,
DucTran

Re: Can I connect HP 8/20q to HP 8/24c via TR-port
Hello, I am not familiar with the Qlogic or the TR-Port but it looks pretty interesting!
" I can present LUN from P2000,MSA2000 to blades from C7000-01."
Are you saying it works when you're using the Cisco 8/24c?
In brocade there is a command called 'nscamshow' which can be used to ask the fabric nameserver which devices it sees. Perhaps there is a similar one in QLogic/Cisco.
fcping / error logs
I presume zones are enabled as well.

Re: Can I connect HP 8/20q to HP 8/24c via TR-port
Hello,
The C7000-02 is the new one which we have just bought. By connecting HP 8/20q(H-series) to HP 8/24c SAN Switch module(B-series), I intend to present P2000's LUNs to C7000-02's blades.
All 16 blades of C7000-01(*) are currently using P2000's LUN
Thanks
DucTran.

Re: Can I connect HP 8/20q to HP 8/24c via TR-port
Ah okay.
I'd start looking at the VC module then - have you set that up similarly for the blades and uplinks as in the -01 chassi?

Re: Can I connect HP 8/20q to HP 8/24c via TR-port
Hi,
The HP B-series 8/24c which basically is Brocade switch consist of 16 internal ports and 8 external ports. So the configuration is not similar to the HP 8/20q.
Thanks,
DucTran.

Re: Can I connect HP 8/20q to HP 8/24c via TR-port
the command 'nscamshow' on the Brocade switch ought to show the P2000. If it doesn't then there's no connectivity on the SAN-level and we can exclude the P2000.
the command 'nsshow' should show the blades in the c7000-02.

Re: Can I connect HP 8/20q to HP 8/24c via TR-port
After installing HBA driver to every blades in C7000-02, the HP B-Series 8/24c can list blades's WWNs. I have never thought of that before.
Now the system works as it should.
