FW update on 4/8 SAN Switch
Hi,
my first time to update a SAN Switch 4/8. Is it true to update from 5.1.0b needs several FW steps( 5.1.0b to 5.3.2 then to 6.0 and 6.2.2) ? If this is true where can I download the older FW updates? On the HP Website I see only the last version 6.2.2f.
Thanks!
Regards werner

Re: FW update on 4/8 SAN Switch
Hi Werner
Unfortunately it's true, you can only jump between revision from set firmware levels. For example to get to the latest version starting from 5.0.1b you would need to complete the following
5.0.1d -> 5.2.3 -> 5.3.2c -> 6.0.1a -> 6.1.2c -> 6.2.2f
These are called FOS Target paths, more info can be found here. http://community.brocade.com/docs/DOC-3133
Firmware for your switch can be found here :- http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=1143867&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=1143864&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=54#290
If you search for Interim FOS on that page it should give you the following link
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL22074/co-86832-6/FOS-Drawer_Statement.htm
From here you can download the versions needed.
Thanks

Re: FW update on 4/8 SAN Switch
Hi Support!
Thanks! The first Update was successful (5.1.0b to 5.2.3) But from 5.2.3 to 5.3.2c I get the error that release.plist not is valid. Do I need the version 5.3.1a? If yes, I did not found the download path for this.
Regards Werner

Re: FEW update on 4/8 SAN Switch
Hi Werner
You shouldn't need to upgrade to 5.3.1a. I'd suggest downloading the 5.3.2c . image again in case it became corrupt. This error can also occur when an incorrect image path is entered. Are you upgrading the firmware using the Web GUI or via the command line? When prompted for the f/w path make sure you've entered the correct path.
e.g. /ftproot/5.3.2c/
Thanks
