Mixed SSD and HDD disks

Hello,

I need to configure my MSA 2070 SAS Dual Controller SFF Array System with a mixed SSD disks for the VMs and HDD disks for the data recording.

My questions are:

1- Can we segregate the storage content in each disk type, without mixing the contend between SSD and HDD.

2- Do i need to install the Advanced Data Service LTU "R2C33A" license in my MSA2070?

Please let me know

Regards

Re: Mixed SSD and HDD disks

Hi,

1 - Yes
Use Pool A with SSD and Pool B with HDD

2 - Yes
Mixing SSD and HDD requires the License, even if you do not use Tiering

My tip: Configure at least 12 disks (at least for the HDDs) to use MSA-DP+. This not only offers greater reliability but also better expansion possibilities.
