Documentation on an HP OEMed Asus CUR-DLS board

I purchased a motherboard billed as a new Asus
CUR-DLS motherboard, only to find that the install
process did not match the Asus manual. After talking
with Asus, I've come to learn this board is in fact
an OEM board and the seller tells me for HP. Asus
tells me the part number they list is 90-M6PE05-B0XBN
for what that may be worth.

My specific problem is this: the 20 pin front
panel connector does not come with this motherboard.
It is a bare spot on the board. So I am at a
loss for how to put together a system.

Can anyone help me? Is there some document somewhere
that can tell me how to set-up this board so I
can use it?

Regards,

Re: Documentation on an HP OEMed Asus CUR-DLS board

I am in the same boat. I have an actual CUR-DLS that I am replacing. On the PCB you can see where the Panel connector is supposed to go. On the real CUR-DLS board it is there but the singel row connector is not. I suspect that the smaller connecter is what we will use but am looking for information aswell.

Re: Documentation on an HP OEMed Asus CUR-DLS board

Upon further investigation. I appears that this board is used in the Netserver E800. The clearest view I can make out is on page 93 of http://h200007.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/lpn11320/lpn11320.pdf (The user Manual for the E800. It clearly shows the Panel 2 Connector as "Not Used" and the an Indication of "Status Panel" for the smaller eight pin (I thought ten earlier) connector that is actually on the board. What we need is the pin out of the Status Panel Connector on the E800 System Board (replacement board D9387-63001). the service manual is at
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/lpn11660/lpn11660.pdf

Looking at the front panel of the E800 diagram it looks like there is only a Power On/Off/Sleep Button, On/Off/Sleep LED, and Drive Active LED. If you add in Speaker

+5
Speaker
Power
GND
HD LED +
HD LED -
Sleep LED +
SLEEP LED -

You have 8 pins. Now there are only 7 availible So I don't know if ther are shareing a pin for the LED's - It would make the most sense.

Re: Documentation on an HP OEMed Asus CUR-DLS board

I seem to have got a similar board on Ebay. Now I wonder how to connect it to a standard ATX case Power and Reset switches. Has anybody resolved this problem? Would be grateful for any reply.

I've found an explanation in "Solution ID: IS11880", located at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=tis11880

Re: Documentation on an HP OEMed Asus CUR-DLS board

I have down-loaded the CUR-DLSR manual from ASUS (its a bit like the CUR-DLS) and it has an interesting picture on P36 paragraph 12 "Panel 2 connector". Buttons 1 & 2 connect to the power button (2 being ground), but I have not tried the other connectors yet (3 & 4 are IDELED,5 is no pin, 6 & 7 are power LED, 8 not specified) . I have got power, but I am trying to upgrade the BIOS - I get an error message
"0B01-0A: Missing Microcode Update data block for Microprocessor"
and when I try to flash the BIOS, I get
"ERROR! Cant' find system BIOS' Hook"
If you got the same, how did you get round it?
