I am doing a number of upgrades (firmware, drivers, etc.) on my LC2000 servers in preperation for adding some new drives to my NetRAID arrays.
I am considering updating the utility partition and updating the system BIOS from 4.06.23PV to 4.06.30PV.
I have two questions:
1) Is it safe to update the utility partition with the M.04.05 Navigator CD? I understand L.19.00 and L.20.00 wrote a utility partition that was too large, and there was a risk of damaging the first data partition. Has this problem definitely been solved? Are there any other risks associated with updating the utility partition?
2) Any issues with the BIOS upgrade from 4.06.23PV to 4.06.30PV?
Thanks!

Re: LC2000 BIOS & Utility Partition Updates
1.) The utility partition installed from the L.19.00 and L.20.00 and M.01.00 Navigators created a 39MB utility partition rather than the "standard" 32MB partition. It is recommended that you do not install the utility partitions form these navigators. It is not know if upgrading from these would cause a problem, more than likely not as it would just have extra unused space of 7MB. Make sure you have a good back up if you used one of those navigators to install the utility partition.
2.) No problems upgrading the BIOS.
2.) No problems upgrading the BIOS.

Re: LC2000 BIOS & Utility Partition Updates
Thanks for the reply.
Our utility partition was originally created with L.18.03. Windows 2000 Disk Manager shows it as a 31 MB partition.
So the bug which caused an incorrect partition size has been fixed by M.04.05? I haven't found a release note that explicitly says so.
