Netserver LC won't recognise SCSI CD-ROM from DOS boot disk

Hi,

I have tried unsuccesfully to boot from DOS and activate the SCSI CD-ROM. I am getting the following error message:

Device driver not found: 'ASPICD0'.
No valid CDROM device drivers selected

The Autoexec.bat file I have created contain the following line and files in the diskette:
a:\mscdex /D:aspicd0

THe Config.sys file I have created contain the following lines and files in the diskette:
files=30
buffers=25
lastdrive=z
device=aspi8dos.sys
device=aspicd.sys /D:aspicd0

The server is loaded with NT4 workstation and the CD-ROM is working fine.

The Host Adapter SCSI is on ID7 and the CD-ROM on ID5. It's a SCSI Sony CD-ROM CDU-76S. Both componets are original and setup from manufacture.

Any idea PLEASE!!!

Thanks
Ozzie V.

Hello Ozzie,

looks fine except for the aspi8dos.sys, could you try with aspi7dos.sys ? (attached to this reply).

Re: Netserver LC won't recognise SCSI CD-ROM from DOS boot disk

Chris,

Thank you very much for your advice. I have resolved a problem that it has been a big issue for me for a long time. I have searched and gone to HP web site and other resources and always recommending aspi8dos.sys and not aspi7dos.sys.

Take care and thanks again.
