TC3100 large IDE hard disks

We have a TC3100 with a SCSI RAID array. We installed 2 200gb IDE Drives to increase storage, but they are displayed as 120GB drives in the BIOS and Windows. Thanks if you are able to help...

Re: TC3100 large IDE hard disks

THe onboard PCI IDE controllers are quite limited. Older IDE COntrollers have trouble in BIOS with larger than 120GB. See the drive manufacturers page for more details. A new controller would solve your problems.

Re: TC3100 large IDE hard disks

Since HP did not test any IDE hard drives on the tc3100 this is not an HP-supported configuration. Other customers who have tried to add IDE drives to this server appear to hit a 120GB limit. Don't know if this is a controller or BIOS limitation.
