DL160 G5 Storage Server with SC11Xe SCSI card
Has anyone managed to get this combination to work? Quickspecs says that it is a valid combination to attach an Ultrium 920 tape drive.
I have let the DL160 G5 go through its startup and configuration first and everything works fine. Shutdown the DL160, install the SC11Xe and reboot and the server just hangs at about the stage where you login.
HP engineer has been out and eventually declared the DL160 DOA but the replacement gives exactly the same problem.

Hi,
Try replacing SC11Xe SCSI card. That helped me with similar kind of problem on AiO 400.

Re: DL160 G5 Storage Server with SC11Xe SCSI card
It was determined that the Rev. 0A amd Rev. 0B controllers were not compatible. The Rev. 0C hardware does not cause the system to hang. The fault occurs when Windows tries to install the PCI-to-PCI bridge driver for the card. At this point, the system will hang. The hardware detection starts before the login prompt and so the system appears to be hung at that point. If it were possible to login you would observe that the sytem would hang at a later point. Unfortunately it is not possible to determine the hardware revision without opening the box the controller comes in.
Please considder assigning points if you value my assistance.

Re: DL160 G5 Storage Server with SC11Xe SCSI card
The problem was eventually rectified by HP engineer replacing the SC11Xe card with a AH627A U320e SCSI HBA.
