Issue with a mount point after a reboot
Hi,
This WE we had a strange issue after a planed ( via crontab) reboot of our HP UX server .
A NFS mount point did not mount . I think that it come from a network issue because when i log into the server few hours after the incident, i was not able to ping the IP ( 8.1.0.18 in the log file ) of the equipment use by the mount . With SAM all the network parts were UP and OK .
The mount point use a private network, not the main network of the server .
I try to ping this equipment from another HP UX server and everything was working well .
I did a reboot to resolve the issue and everything is working well now but we don't want to have the same issue this WE .
In the log /etc/rc.log, i can see some errors when the NFS client start
Start NFS client subsystem
Output from "/sbin/rc2.d/S430nfs.client start":
----------------------------
Starting NFS CLIENT subsystem
Starting up nfs4cbd daemon
/usr/sbin/nfs4cbd
Starting up nfsmapid daemon
/usr/sbin/nfsmapid
Mounting remote NFS file systems ...
nfs mount: 8.1.0.18: : RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Timed out
nfs mount: retrying: /doi/mnt/nasXXX
nfs mount:8.1.0.18: : RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Timed out
nfs mount: giving up on: /doi/mnt/nasXXX
FAILURE CODE: 1
Mount failed! Possible local filesystem mount.
If local filesystem, then nfs.server will mount it.
Mounting remote CacheFS file systems ...
The HP support tell us that everything was OK for the material part .
Do you have any idea about this issue to find some logs or a way to find what happened ?
Thanks in advance for your help .
Few information about the server :

Re: Issue with a mount point after a reboot
Hello
Correct ,This doesn't seems to be HW issue..but somthing on the network.
As you mentioned from HPUX you were not able to ping the IP 8.1.0.18.
You may check with the network team, why it was not able to ping the equipment .
I am an HPE employee

Re: Issue with a mount point after a reboot
Dear Team,
This is issue might be nfs mount point problem so you can start the nfs services
/sbin/init.d/nfs.core start
/sbin/init.d/lockmgr start
/sbin/init.d/nfs.client start
above services for rpc deamon
