RAS in Server (NT 4.0 SP6) with ELSA MicroLink ISDN Internet Modem
Hi folks!
I installed a RAS server with the ELSA Microlink ISDN Internet modem, using the ELSA NDIS WAN Miniport (because it didn't work with just installing it as a modem), and when I call in from a workstation, every time the line drops after the second ring, no connection is made.
Not entirely sure if I installed the modem in the right manner, though.
The ISDN line is working, checked it with an ISDN phone. The modem used to work too, another server (now non-existent) used to be remote-controlled over the same ISDN line with pc anywhere by a support company, whom I unfortunately cannot contact to ask how they installed the modem in the first place.
Please could anybody help? I'm completely new to the topic of networking via telephone.
Greetings,
Susanne

Do you have the routing and remote access update installed? check this link:

Re: RAS in Server (NT 4.0 SP6) with ELSA MicroLink ISDN Internet Modem
Found this for W95 but might work for NT.
tell W95 that you are using a "Standard 28800 bps Modem"
in the properties of the dialup networking icon, touch the "Configure..." button.
Change the maximum speed to 115200
select the "Connection" tab
click the "Advanced..." button
In the "Additional Parameters" field, enter AT&F%B64000\N4
Also try the correct driver with the AT&F%B64000\N4
string.

Re: RAS in Server (NT 4.0 SP6) with ELSA MicroLink ISDN Internet Modem
I seem to remember that during configuration of RAS you have the opertunity to install a modem at the point where you choose your comm device. That is where I would begin installing the modem. An ISDN is not a normal comm modem although it uses a serial port(or is it internal, in which case it's all different) like other external modems.
