Re: 7 CROWNS - WOW

Hi Gang!

Thank you for your kind words. I guess I shouldn't take it too personally that you want to disable my account and ship me off to a paradise island ;-)

Wodisch, a tip of your crown is an honor to receive. A special thank you to you, sir.

Clay, my friend, you keep me honest and learning ;-) I agree, those last sticky points sure have a long gestation period.

Michael, they tell me that it's 'OK' as long as you don't answer yourself???

Richard, "???James slowing down a little?" --- perhaps.

Harry, a big thanks for this thread.

A bit of history. I've been a member of the ITRC since September 16, 1997 but actually only started participating in the Forum in July 2000. The current Forum format, as we see it today, started May 5, 2000 as announced here:

Re: 7 CROWNS - WOW

Hi everybody.
Congrats, James, for the seventh crown.
I have just one question. How can you handle that weight on your head ? Isn't it just a bit too much ? What kind of headache pills do you use against the pain bearing that much weight ?
;-)
I bow to Your Majesty ( but not too deep ).
Kindest regards

Re: 7 CROWNS - WOW

Hi JRF,

best wishes from my side as well.

I know this has been discussed several times already, but there has to be something, that highlights JRF a little bit more.

First thing, I remember Shane suggested to attach the magic rabbit to his profile, maybe this would show up at the place, where the HP-logo sits for HP members ?!?!? I think he is going to deserve this.

Second thing: HP has to set someone to the icon-editor to give him a special icon at least when he bursts into the 10th crown. There have been several suggestions already, and I still favor one of my older ones (small ringed planet like saturn to be spelled as "master of universe"). The minimum should be a "bigger" crown :-)

Keep it up

Re: 7 CROWNS - WOW

Hi,

Well, from time to time, I tell my wife what I did during the day, at work. Forums showed up once or twice as well. Now, the stories will look like:

'You know, there is a point system, at 250 you will get a pro cap, at 500, a graduate one, next is the wizard hat, at 1000 points, their is a gold crown at 2500 points and, if you have more than 5000, this is called a JRF. Well, I can't explain what's a JRF, I forgot where it comes from, seems the beginning was somewhere in 2000.'

Raising new standards, are you?

Many congratulations, James.

Perhaps a special icon should be designed for you at 25000 points (for within a few months).

JRF...

Please take a vacation for some ten years so that atleast a few will try to compete with you later.

Are you not bored with these many crowns? Dan should change the jewelry.

My heartfelt congratulations to you.

Congrats JRF - the relentless Points machine. May be HP should name their next range of servers as JRF !!

As a consideration to requests of many members here, they should block your profile from gathering more points ;-)

Amazing diligence! 20000 by Christmas time??
