Hey all
I don't understand the theory about Simplex and Duplex in Raid
Can you offer some documents about this?

Re: A question about Simplex and Duplex in Raid
Hi
Following link clould be helpful;
http://techpubs.sgi.com/library/tpl/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi/linux/bks/SGI_EndUser/books/SGI9100_OG/sgi_html/ch03.html
It has a good explantion of simplex and duplex RAID topologies.
HP offers the neccesary h/w for RAID 1, 5 or 6 implementation.
I - a RAID controler ie. HP SmartArrayCardControle 6402(two channels) or 6404(4 channels) series,SCSI ULTRA320
II - a MSA30 disk enclosure
III - disks to populate the enclosure.
The controler card comes with the utilities(sautil, saconfig) neccesary
to configure the RAID then using the LVM create the new vgs and the rest.
Cheers
