Hi All!
Is there any experience with re-creating
OnlineJFS license.
Before the attempt to do this, I had a OnlineJFS license problem:
#extendfs -F vxfs /dev/cg51/rlvol1
extendfs: You don't have a license to run this program
#vxlicense -p
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Feature name: HP_OnlineJFS [50]
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Number of licenses: 1 (non-floating)
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Expiration date: Sun Jun 24 11:00:00 2007 (1.1 days ago)
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Release Level: 22
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Machine Class: All
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Site ID: 0
#/usr/sbin/vxlicrep -e
VERITAS License Manager vxlicrep utility version 3.02.006
Copyright (C) 1996-2004 VERITAS Software Corp. All Rights reserved.
Creating a report on all VERITAS products installed on this system
License Key = 907749864228766544621479
Product Name = VERITAS File System
Lic Key Lib Ver = ELM
Key = Invalid, Expired
License Type = DEMO
Demo End Date = Sun Jun 24 11:00:00 2007
Site License = YES
Features :=
HP_OnlineJFS = Enabled
As you can see, the license expired on 24jun /don't know why - known proiblem/bug?? /
So I decide to re-build the license information with valid OnlineJFS license key:
#mv /etc/vx/elm/50.lic /home/boro
#vxlicinst -k 3JZU-WDP6-PP6C-P4O4-HS38-NXGJ-N
#/sbin/fs/vxfs/vxenablef -a
So after this attempt I cannot find the new 50.lic created, OnlineJFS features is not available and the report commands shows the
following:
# vxlicrep
VERITAS License Manager vxlicrep utility version 3.02.006
Copyright (C) 1996-2004 VERITAS Software Corp. All Rights reserved.
Creating a report on all VERITAS products installed on this system
License Key = 3JZU-WDP6-PP6C-P4O4-HS38-NXGJ-N
Product Name = VERITAS File System
Serial Number = 1
License Type = PERMANENT
OEM ID = 4095
Features :=
HP_OnlineJFS = Enabled
CPU Count = Not Restricted
# vxlicense -p
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: No valid license installed
So what are wrong? How I can create the new 50.lic file, in order to receive onlineJFS features.
Regards,Stan

Re: an attempt to re-build OnlineJFS license file
Shalom,
Seems like something HP built into the license. There are a lot of people experiencing this.
If you have software support that includes OnlineJFS you should be able to conact HP and obtain a new license key.
