ATM attached servers not talking
I installed HPUX 11.00 on a K260, it has an ATM OC12 card. I also have another K260 with HPUYX 10.20 installed. I can't get these two systems to connect overy ATM. I also have 6 other ATM attached HP9000 and can get both these K260's to connect to all other ATM servers, just not to each other. I have varified all configuration values against working servers.
The 11.00 systems will be replacing the 10.20 system so I need to be able to copy files.
Should I apply the latest cummulitive ATM patches?
Thanks
Ned

Re: ATM attached servers not talking
I feel that general release patches are a good thing if they have been out a while. The Response Center or Labs will ask that you first apply the current patches before they dig too far into the problem.
Yes, this is a good first step. However, I don't know if this will solve your problem. Since you are able to talk to other ATM connected systems in the cloud, but cannot reach this 10.20 system; it sounds like something else is wrong.
I presume that these 2 systems have not talked with each other before. Could it be something as simple as they both have the same IP address or system name?
My suggested action plan:
1. Check for duplicate names/IP addresses.
2. Apply the latest ATM patches.
3. Contact the Response Center and see about getting a nettl trace for the ATM subsystem on each system. The trace anaylsis should show exactly why the connection is not working.
-if I remember correctly the syntax for the trace is
nettl -tn pduin pduout -e ATM
I used to read these traces some years ago and the nettl tracing facility for ATM is EXTREMELY helpful.

CG
