boot disk

Why slice no. is listed only in a boot disk of Itanium servers not in other disks?

example:c0t0d0s1

could any one explain.

Hi Siva

As I remember Itanium servers reuires a EFI shell to start with.It no more uses the boot method of PA architecture.

For which we reuire EFI shell as slice0
and your physical disk as slice2

We always use slice2 for LVM purposes.

This is due to the way EFI works.
It needs a boot shell (c0t6d0s1) and then an area set for HP-UX boot (c0t6d0s2)

PARIC does not need this.
