bootconf reporting incorrect

In the past I have found this to be a mismtach from what the primary root disk is set to and what is in bootconf. However this time they match up. Could the incorrect error for /stand/bootconf be because of an additional space between the lvm flag and the actual disk?

# cat /stand/bootconf
l /dev/dsk/c3t0d0

Re: bootconf reporting incorrect

It may not be on account of the space you see in a file. I have same file.

What is the exact error message?/ Also can you boot through same PV??

Re: bootconf reporting incorrect

I can boot the physical disk just fine. It is the same that is defined in setboot. Exact error message comes from sysinfo output complaining that "/stand/bootconf is INCORRECT"

Re: bootconf reporting incorrect

man bootconf

It lists all the details. you can run lifls -l on it and check if everything is OK.

Re: bootconf reporting incorrect

Try

# cat /stand/bootconf | xd -xc
0000000 6c20 202f 6465 762f 6473 6b2f 6333 7436
l / d e v / d s k / c 3 t 6
0000010 6430 0a00
d 0 \n
0000013

Note there are 2 space between the 'l' and the '/'.

Re: bootconf reporting incorrect

Hi David,

It's probably complaining because the bootconf does not contain the alternate disk as well.
The file should contain both.

Re: bootconf reporting incorrect

Bingo. Thanks Jeff, never realized that it needed to contain alt disk as well.

Re: bootconf reporting incorrect

lvlnboot -v |grep "Boot disk"

bootconf needs them both.

Order doesn't matter.
