Can my L-class server run 11i?

Hello and HELP! lol

Hi Everyone,

We purchase an L3000 server and we have UNIX 11.0 running on it fine (64-bit). I have Ignite UX, Mirror Disk, and all has been fine.

We want to upgrade to 11i using our March 2003 disks, but the system will not load, I keep getting coredumps and the install fails. I was told that our GSP revision was the issue, so we had a newer GSP board installed.....but I'm still unable to load 11i.

I was wondering if anyone can point me in a direction on how to load 11i? or is this not possible?

Background of the current system:

model: 9000/800/L3000-5x
getconf KERNEL_BITS: 64

and if I look at my System Properties in sam, I see:

CPU Version: 2.0 PA8600
Clock Frequency: 550 MHz

and my current Firmware Version: 42.06

If I look at my GSP board that I now have:
Hardware Revision: NO
Firmware Revision: B.02.04

Is my problem that the Hardware Revision says NO???? And what does no mean (lol, hope that one doesn't kill me! lol, too funny)

I do see that there is a later 11i (Sept 2003) and was wondering if I should order that?

TIA for any help or ideas.

Cin,

Yes, you can install 11i:

I would order the latest.

And, as to your actual problem, I would ask HP to update the firmware.

Yes you can run 11i on your L class, we do on ours. Certainly your Hardware Revision of NO doesnt look good - unless it means NONE - ive just checked 2 of our L-class and both have a hardware revision of 8.

I would certainly check with HP as to if this is stopping your install.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...
