Solution
Hi,
Ignite network boot is supported only on the internal lan port. This is the default lan port on the Core I/O. Do a search for the boot device. If the port you want to boot from shows on your search list, you would be able to boot through that port.
Also take a look at the thread below,
http://us-support.external.hp.com/cki/bin/doc.pl/sid=256f7797052b49e16a/screen=ckiDisplayDocument?docId=200000048086737
If you are unable to boot through lan, you can boot through the boot CD and then install the OS through netowrk using the ignite server.
Hope this helps.

Hi, Interrupt boot process and do a
search on scsi devices from the ISL/bootadmin
prompt with the command Search. That will list all the bootable devices and lan. What ever is listed there are the only ones allowed to be used. For lan, it's the lan port on the core i/o card, since the system recognises it before booting with the kernel.

Re: can we use the second lan card to contact an ignite server ?
Hi
If that ip is not bound to lan card on core-io card, you can boot through the boot CD and then install the OS through ignite server.
Thanks.
Prashant.
