I am unable to access my D-Class Server remotely.Though I am able to ping to it.
when I telnet to it.. It just gives me a blanc Screen... The cursor dosent move ahead and looks like hung.
To connect throgh a D3xx Graphics Monitor, which cable is required to connect to the Turbo Slot.
Also I notice that there is no LAN cable connected to the "Lan 10 Base T" . Does that mean anything ????
Solved! Go to Solution.

One that will fit the the plug on the graphics adapter. I'm not familiar with the graphics cards for these servers so I don't know if it is a standard VGA or not.
I am used to connecting to the CONSOLE port which requires a null modem cable.

That depends. Do you have a network cable going to another network card on the server? Since you can ping it, my guess would be that you do. You probably have a 100 Mb card installed in the server that you are using instead of the built-in 10 Mb.
The fact that you can ping the server indicates it is alive and on the network at some level at least. But without console access to the server to see what services are running, further diagnosis is going to be somewhat difficult.

Re: D Class Server
Neither on my A class or on the D Class.
I connect the cable to the Serial 1/Console port and the other end to my laptop. and then i click on hyperterminal and give the name as "123" and then select COM1 & give the settings. and try to connect.
It says as connected... but I do not see anything on the console. It is just blanc with a cursor blinking

Re: D Class Server
maybe you don't have a getty running, but i don't think you would get connected at all if there wasn't one.
try hitting the "break" key on the keyboard,
that should cause the getty to rotate through the baud rates and might get you hooked up. At the very least, you should get some funky characters

Re: D Class Server
To connect a PA-RISC machine to a PC's RS232 port, you need a 9-pin-to-9-pin female plugs null-modem cable.

Re: D Class Server
INIT: Command is respawning too rapidly.
Will try again in 5 minutes.
Check for possible errors.
