Difference in shutdownlog time and system time
Dear Experts,
In my HP-9000 R380 server, I have observed that the time recorded for shutdown in the /etc/shutdownlog and the time recored in the /usr/adm/syslog/syslog.log are very much different.
Can any body give the reason and how it can be corrected.
Thanks in advance
A.Naga

Re: Difference in shutdownlog time and system time
hi,
from my servers, the last time (down to minute) recorded in /var/adm/syslog/OLDsyslog.log and /etc/shutdownlog is almost the same.
may i know which version of HP-UX and also the patch level of /usr/sbin/shutdown
# what /usr/sbin/shutdown
regards.

Re: Difference in shutdownlog time and system time
Hi,
If it not a problem then can you cut/paste the log values and tell us which one is correct. That will help us in focusing on the problem area.
