EMS and ATM not working
I have 4 machine all connected via ATM. On three of them I had EMS setup to monitor link state and log to syslog. These are via /net/interfaces/switched/atm/ela0.
I tried to setup the 4th and EMS will not enter the configuration. However, if you view /net/interfaces/lan/status, ela0 appears there as well and you can conigure via this. I went back to one of the first 3 machines and removed the entry for ATM and tried to put it back. Again the
/net/interfaces/switched/atm path did nothing (even though ela0 was listed under it) and did work for /net/interfaces/lan/status.
So I tried on another machine but this one accepted the configuration under /net/interfaces/switched/atm.
Why is the ATM device listed under both paths and any ideas why I can no longer configure it under /net/interfaces/switched/atm???

Re: EMS and ATM not working
Sounds like different versions which can be checked by launching 'STM'. STM = 'Support Tools Manager' and it along with EMS are together installed via the Diagnostics modules.
The first page displayed will have the version, for example, A.41.00
-or-
swlist -l fileset | grep -i stm
HP-UX 11i
ID: B.11.11.11.xx, STM vers.: A.41.00
HP-UX 11.00
ID: B.11.00.24.xx, STM vers.: A.38.00
