Re: error message in syslog

Hi,

31 is the major number of this device which is a disk. 034000 gives you the path.

Looks like there is a problem with one of your disks. Do a ll /dev/dsk |grep 34000 to find out the disk that is affected.

Re: error message in syslog

You have a problem with /dev/dsk/c3t4d0.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: error message in syslog

Hi Chris,

it seems, that one of your disks ist not okay and dying. Do a: ll/dev/dsk/ an you see which disk it is (0x034000 ist cxtxdx).

Also you can use the logtool of the cstm.

#cstm
#ru logtool
#sr
(Press Enter)

Then you see all I/O Errors of your system.

Re: error message in syslog

Use the excercize option to test the drive.

I think eventually you'll get an lbolt and need to replace the drive.

It could be cables, scsi card or drive cage if your system has one. You need to keep an eye on this one. I'd think about mirroring or getting data off the affected drive.
