/etc/hosts change
is it required to reboot server after changing /etc/hosts file...?.Assume the following cases
1.No NIS/NFS configured and simple networking
2.NIS/NFS configured

/etc/hosts file even if NIS/NFS is configured. What
exactly you are modifying in /etc/hosts file?

no reboot required to pick up changes in /etc/hosts.
Please check /etc/nsswitch.conf to ensure /etc/hosts is used first.
Do you have a specific problem which led to your question?
