Hi Folks,

Can you please let me know your feedback on the Internet Services documents. The documents are located at the following location:

Re: Feedback on Internet Services Documents

Hi,

I scanned some of the documents and I think they make things clear on how to install/configure the services.

One remark: Some of the titles for the documents I find some bit vague.
"HP-UX IP Address and Client Management Administrator's Guide"
This document tells about configuring Bind (DNS) DHCP Bootp etc...
Maybe you can think of a more explaining title so that paople dealing with a Bind problem will find the correct documentation.

Re: Feedback on Internet Services Documents

Some documents don't have html pages and some don't have corresponding PDF.

Rest seems to be fine.

Re: Feedback on Internet Services Documents

Hi,

I would like add up something:

Some docs covers all 11iv1/11iv1.5/11iv1.6/11iv2 OS into one single document while other's are written separately.
It would be better if you bundle docs for all 11iv1/11iv1.5/11iv1.6/11iv2 for every topic listed. It would allow an individual to compare and see the differences between the different versions of 11i.
I think that would be helpful.

Re: Feedback on Internet Services Documents

Looks good - on the main page,

http://www.docs.hp.com/index.html

under:

Networking and Communications:
Networking and I/O products, including LAN, WAN, SAN (Fibre Channel, SCSI, RAID), network services and transports.

Maybe add "Internet services".

- strange that Apache is listed on same page though....

Re: Feedback on Internet Services Documents

Hi Anitha,

In general, the docs are in good shape.

However, I had a small doubt regarding the following docs:
- HP-UX Mailing Services Administrator's Guide (HP-UX 11i v2)
- HP-UX Routing Services Administrator's Guide (HP-UX 11i v2)
- HP-UX IP Address and Client Management Administrator's Guide(HP-UX 11i v2)
-HP-UX Remote Access Services Administrator's Guide(HP-UX 11i v2)
- HP-UX Internet Services Administrator's Guide (HP-UX 11i v2)

The "About the Doc" section in all the above docs say,"These manuals replace the manual Installing and Administering Internet Services (B2355-90685)..."
The B2355-90685 doc is for the following HP-UX releases: HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v1.5, and HP-UX 11i v1.6. But the docs list above are only for HP-UX 11i v2. This is confusing. If the above listed docs are a replacement of the B2355-90685 doc, then shouldn't those docs also be for all the other HP-UX releases (HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v1.5, and HP-UX 11i v1.6)? If this is not true, wouldn't it be incorrect to say that these docs are replacing something!

Please clarify.

Sri Ram
