is it recomended to create a vxfs file system larger than 1TB ?

What are your concerns ?
What sort of application is going to be using the disk ?

You can create much larger filesystems with VxFS depending on the version of HP-UX and the version of your VxFS code. The bigger concern is backup and whether you will have a few very large files or millions of small files.

If you use HP-UX LVM, the limit of Size of a LV to 2TB for OS 11.00, 11.11 and 11.23[I/Os beyond 2TB will be rejected]
