Hello,
the incremental restore of files with large parent-directories (total of 300.000 Files) is very slow (about 2 hours for one file). Other files, even if they are more on the end of the tape, need only about 2-3 minutes for the restore. Any ideas are very welcome !

Re: frecover
Hey Michael,
did you verify, that this comes from the tape ?
I suspect the filesystem overhead (300.000 entries) putting a brake on the restore here.
Esp. as you stated the restore of files behind this location is faster.
Try a restore of this files to an empty target directory, on a filesystem which does not contain so many i-nodes.
Do not know if this helps
