ghostscript print to epson printer

Dear all,
Please help me to print postscript file to Epson printer using ghostscript.
I use the following command to print to epson printer:
gs -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -dQUIET -sDEVICE=epson -sOutputFile=test.out -sPAPERSIZE=a4 test2.ps
lp test.out

However, a lot of rubbish come out at the printer.
When I try to use the following command to printer to HP LaserJet pritner, everything is fine:
gs -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -dQUIET -sDEVICE=laserjet -sOutputFile=test.out -sPAPERSIZE=a4 test2.ps
lp test.out

Could anyone tell me how to solve this problem?
Thanks!

Re: ghostscript print to epson printer

This might not be remarkably helpful but as "cups" uses ghostscript (or at least something similar) and as it's free and as it's the absolute best printing system for unix and as you get great epson drivers (if you use gimp-print too) then I would suggest you have a quick look at "cups".

Re: ghostscript print to epson printer

Hi Stephen
Is the printer locally plugged?

If so, you can try with cat directly:

cat test.out > /dev/printer_device

If the printer script has the option raw you can try:

lp -oraw test.out

Hope this helps.

Linux?. Yes, of course.
