I have an external unused tape library powered down on a K420. EMS complains several times a day about the tape drives. How can I modify EMS to ignore just the tape drives? From what I can tell, /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig is the tool to mofidy monitors, but I don't understand how I can use it to suppress messages for just the tape drives.

Hi Tom,
See this attached document:
On later version of EMS (available on support plus CD's or on the net, some of these default settings are actually removed.

Re: How to disable EMS on tape drives
Hi,
Once u enter into the monconfig tool u will see a menu where u need to select (M)odify an existing monitoring request.
There u need to remove
MONITOR /storage/events/tapes/SCSI_tape
Then restart the EMS.

Re: How to disable EMS on tape drives
You can disable a specific the instance (path) from being monitored by EMS. I've used this method quite a number of times. Take a look at my reply in ..
