How to install JetAdmin on a 700 Serie running HP-UX 9
Hi,
How does the installation of the JetAdmin software work on an 720 with HP-UX
9.x?
I have the file "HPNPFPKG.700" from the CD Version A.02.00 but don't know, what
to do. There is no README file on the CD and I couldn't find any help in the
internet. And there is no info for UX 9 on the HP-Web.

Re: How to install JetAdmin on a 700 Serie running HP-UX 9
Hi,
It has been a while since I last worked with HP-UX 9 but this is what I think
needs to be done:
1) Register the file as a depot. Do this by issuing:
swreg -l depot /path_to_file/filename
2) Then install the software with swinstall on the command-line (swinstall -s
/path_to_file/file) or through SAM

Re: How to install JetAdmin on a 700 Serie running HP-UX 9
Actually, all the SDUX commands such as swreg,
swinstall, etc. work at 10.X and above. At
9.X and earlier, we used /etc/update and /etc/patch_install.
Both programs can be pointed directly at the mounted
CD-ROM to show you a listing of products on the CD to be installed. There
should be a README file on that old 9.X applications CD that shows you some
examples
of doing this.
Hope that helps.
