we have 9000/800/rp3410 machine with HP-UX 11iv1 installed on it
In this this morning i got a mail saying one of my power is down some 10 hrs back
how to see the current status of both the power supplies from the command line

You may get the information using GSP logs or EMS logs (/var/opt/resmon/log/event.log) too.

There is no need to poll the status since OnlineDiag will do this for you!
Of course you need to monitor the stm daemons, but you would need to do that too if you want a reliable c/mstm output.
A third method would be to buy a ssh license for the GSP/ILO and simply script the PS command (since telnet is that hard to script).
