HP-UX a big endian or little endian

Is HP-UX, a big endian or little endian?
For example I understand that Alpha Arquitecture based processors are Little endians.

James is proably right, although I couldn't swear it's big endian, when we migrated our custom app away from Alpha last year, we had to change the endianess of the binary data.

The PA 2.0 and Itanium hardware will run either.
All of the software on HP-UX runs in big endian mode, except for small parts of the Integrity kernel.

Re: HP-UX a big endian or little endian

IIRC bi-endian support even pre-dates PA 2.0 processors to some PA 1.1's

HP-UX - Big Endian, PA and Integrity
Linux - Little Endian on Integrity
Windows - Little Endian on Integrity.
OpenVMS - Little Endian IIRC on Integrity
NonStop - no clue :)

Getting away from "supported" things

FreeBSD - cannot recall, but there is an Integrity port. if I had to guess I would say little-endian
Linux - Big Endian on PA-RISC
