I converted a HU-UX 11.0 system to a trusted system. Now remote login on a dialup modem are unable to logon to the system. Can this be fixed or do I have to convert back to a non-trusted system.?

Exactly what messsages are you getting?

Remember that *all* accounts have their passwords expire when converting a system to trusted. You may wish to re-enable their account as well, as after three unsuccessful attempts the account will be disabled. To re-enable:

# /usr/lbin/modprpw -k

I believe you will need to add the device file run by getty for your modem like tty0p0 into /tcb/files/auth/ttys file. Add it exactly like the other entries in that file. Take a copy of it before modifying it.

Sridhar has the right idea (except leave out the '/auth' in the pathname he mentions). You also need to do the same thing to the devassign file in that directory. It would be a good idea to install patch PHCO_29027 if you have not already done so. See the devassign(4) and ttys(4) man pages for more details.
