Re: HPUX Virtualisation

Virtualization (HPVM) requires hp-ux 11.23 or 11.31.

Hope this helps!

Re: HPUX Virtualisation

This server is a PA-RISC processor based machine.
Therefore it CANNOT run:
nPars
vPars
Integrity Virtual Machines.
And the OS is wy out of supprot anyway.

Re: HPUX Virtualisation

It's an Old rusty box, spend some money and get a new one which you can virtualize.

This one you can not, regarding application they can be made compatible to run on a new virtualized server (what application its running?)

Re: HPUX Virtualisation

Virtualisation is nothing but splitting up the machine that you have into smaller pieces. You don't have enough processors or memory to accomplish anything useful with a virtual partition. The virtual machine manager requires additional CPU cycles to keep the partitions separated and assigned to the right network card and virtual disk space. HP-UX 10.20 has been out of support for more than 10 years, long before any virtual-anything existed.

If you need another machine that runs 10.20, there are plenty of D-class boxes on eBay.

Re: HPUX Virtualisation

IMHO there are 2 possible questions:

- can this d-class do virtualization?
NO.

- can a virtual server run 10.20?
NO.

Virtual servers (HPVM) can run 11.23 or 11.31, maybe your application can work on this.

Hope this helps!
