Greetins all. We were updating a Integrity server running HPUX11.31. Moving from Ignite C.7.7.93 and installing to C.7.16.283.
Downloaded a later version of Ignite from HP:
-rw------- 1 root sys 341637120 May 23 13:37 HP-UX_11i_v3_Ignite-UX-11.31_C.7.16.283_HP-UX_B.11.00_32_64.depot
After the initial swinstall, the bundle had two bits of software:
IGNITE -> C.7.16.283 HP-UX Installation Utilities (Ignite-UX) 453020 HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64
Ignite-UX-11-31 -> C.7.16.283 HP-UX Installation Utilities for Installing 11.31 Systems 453020 HP-UX_B.11.00_32/64
Ran the install for the "Ignite-UX-11-31", and it produced the below fileset errors that occur when you try and run a UNIX backup:
# time make_tape_recovery -A
* Creating local directories for configuration files and archive.

I assume...that either more Ignite SW is required...or perhaps Ignite needs removing first? Is there a preferred way to remove all of Ignite...assuming that a second attempt at reinstalling would work.
Thanks
P.S. this thread has been moved from HP-UX > System Administration to Ignite - HP Forum Moderator

Re: Ignite C.7.16.283 Install Issue - Different Filesets Errors Post Install
I have always removed the old Ignite software before installing a new version due to the errors you are seeing.

Re: Ignite C.7.16.283 Install Issue - Different Filesets Errors Post Install
Thanks for that Patrick.
Checked what Ignite SW was on the server:
swlist | grep -i ignite

SolutionOn a related note, if you have a central Ignite U/X server and wish to keep the version you currently have consistent across the clients or are running the make_net_recovery command you can use the -u option to update the Ignite S/W on the client. From the man page:
-u Updates the Ignite-UX software from the Ignite server
specified by the -s option. This is done only when the
version of software on the server is newer than the client.
The software update uses the depot on the server in the
location: /var/opt/ignite/depots/recovery_cmds. If this
depot does not exist, you may use the
/opt/ignite/lbin/pkg_rec_depot command to create it. When
the -u option causes the software to be updated, it then
automatically restarts the command with the same options.
